Sam Faulkner ⨯  Coffee

London Coffee Photographer & Director

Welcome! I'm Sam Faulkner, a photographer & filmmaker dedicated to the world of coffee.

With my camera I have travelled from the verdant mountains of Colombia where coffee beans redden, to the buzzing coffee shops of East London. Focused on capturing every stage of the coffee journey, I craft compelling narratives about how our favourite brew comes to life.

I specialise in telling the captivating stories behind coffee brands, emphasising their special relationships with local communities, ethical sourcing, and sustainable support for coffee farmers.

As a visual artist passionate about coffee, I bring to life the journey of each coffee bean with a focus on authenticity and connection.

Coffee Makes a Difference

Over the years I have shot coffee projects in Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

I have photographed how direct trade with growers and local cooperatives can help transform communities.

It is great to see coffee brands are at the forefront of creating sustainable relationships with their producers- a practice that other industries should try to replicate.

Brands that make a difference are my favourite clients!

Tell the Story- Share your Values

Fair trade coffee photographer

Sustainable coffee companies take pride in their traceability, environmental work, support for farmers, fairer trade and of course exceptional products.

They prove that the most remarkable coffee is crafted while making a positive impact to communities and the environment.

The world needs to know how coffee makes things better.

I help coffee brands tell these stories to their customers and stakeholders.

Reportage, Advertising & In Between

I started my career as a reportage photographer shooting documentary projects around the world for clients including the Sunday Times Magazine, GQ & Newsweek. I covered stories like the rise of the Taliban in in Afghanistan, the war on drugs in Colombia & Gangs in LA.

For more than a decade, I have been working with brands, shooting advertising stills and directing commercials. My experience gives me a unique perspective on creating photographs that truly reflect a company’s sustainability values and communicates them to their customers and stakeholders.

I have also photographed sustainability projects for brands focused on Water, Fashion, Milk Production, Food and Beauty.

Yet… Coffee is where my heart lies. As well as ensuring I am constantly caffeinated, I love the process, the ritual, the landscape and the people that go into making my perfect espresso.
